Light designed around the horse

Modern horse management can mean spending much of the day indoors, away from optimum daylight and exposed to disruptive light at night. That environment can interfere with the horse’s body clock, with consequences for appetite, growth, immune response and performance.

The Equilume Stable Light was developed to address that disconnect, delivering biologically effective illumination in a controlled system designed to replicate the benefits of nature’s environmental lighting.

Recreate daylight. Fit the stable.

The product had to translate a carefully defined lighting regime into equipment that could live naturally within a working stable. Optical performance, positioning and control all needed to support the horse’s daily cycle without complicating established routines.

S29 developed the luminaire as a coherent product rather than a piece of laboratory equipment—combining purposeful illumination with a robust, cleanable form suitable for the realities of an equestrian environment.
